FAQ

Questions about residence in Türkiye

Does residence by property lead to citizenship?

No. Residence by property lets you live in Türkiye and renew your permit while you own the property. Citizenship by property has a different condition: a $400,000 property with a 3-year no-sale undertaking.

Is my family included?

Yes, your spouse and children under 18 can get residence based on the same property; each receives their own card.

How long is the property residence permit?

It is usually granted for 1 or 2 years and renewed while the property stays in your name and you apply on time.

Can I work with a property residence permit?

No, it does not give the right to work on its own; work requires a separate work permit from the Ministry of Labour.

What are closed neighbourhoods?

Neighbourhoods where the migration office no longer grants new residence permits to foreigners. A property there cannot be used for residence, so we check the neighbourhood before you buy.
